Norton Internet Security and Firewall report that they have been turned off? (Points awarded)?

I have a trial of norton internet security that came with my new laptop. Both malware potection and firewall on the security center are red and they both report that they are out of date or turned off. But when i press update, the Norton internet security screen just comes up that says everything is secure. Also when I turn my computer on two different error messages come up about the norton firewall and anti-virus protection. WHAT SHOULD I DO. I will absolutely reward points to the best answer.

I had the same laptop returned for an outside reason other computer did not have problem.

Your Norton is out of date.. which is why it is saying everything is fine.

There are two parts to a security suite. There is the program you install and there are the updates which keep it current on what to look for in terms of threats.

I suggest you find a reliable and qualified technician who can assist you with properly upgrading, configuring, etc.. your Norton suite (and upgrade it to norton 360) and who can show you how to properly OPERATE it.
