Sims 2 deluxe question?

Ok, whenever I load it to change to a different house, a different neighborhood, save it, etc. It like freezes and i have to like turn of my computer. i have a windows xp, and i already turn off my virus protection when i play and i did the performance tip things in the booklet. Please help me . thanks

Your game is overloading and taking up way to much space on your computer.

Your computer may be over crowded with things that shouldn't be on there. Also if you have millions of downloads this will cause your game to slow down and possibly not even work at all.

If your computer is originally slow when you installed the Sims2 then the Sims 2 wont' be able to create as much as you would like on the graphics card, causing your computer to freak out.

First clear out lots of space on your computer (and on your game) To rid space in the game, rid of the pictures of the different families that came with, I found this dramatically helping my game.

Also when you go into the menu's turn off all mirrors and turn down the "Sim/object detail" "graphic effects (or something like that)" and switch those to low. This should also help your game run more efficiently.

It sounds like your computer is not good enough to run the game. You have to have quite a bit of ram or it will just keep crashing like that.
