Virtual PC protects you from viruses/spyware?

Hey guys.

If i run a program that contain viruses/spywares in Virual PC, would my host computer be COMPLETELY safe from those same viruses/spyware? If i would not be COMPLETELY safe, would i be REASONABLY safe? Meaning, if i do get a virus/spyware in my virtual OS, are the chances high such that the virus/spyware was programmed to be transfer from a virtual to a host OS? I naturally assume that it's very hard (but not impossible!) to write a program that will bypass the protection layer of virtualization software (eg: virtual pc, vmware).

Sorry for the caps.

even programs such as virtual pc contain software 'bridges' to connect to the operating system and the internet 'outside' of the virtual machine.

*most* viruses aren't as sophisticated or clever as people may think, their actions are fairly predictable so if they end up in a virtual machine which hasn't had outlook express or programs like limewire installed they will be crippled and unable to spread in their usual way.

if you're planning on setting up a virtual machine with an internet connection and file sharing programs and such you're increasing the chances that a virus can prosper by getting itself back out onto the internet.

the advantage of a setup like that is that you can just delete a virtual machine and replace it from a backup withou worrying.

virus and spyware protection doesnt work 100%

even if you have them sometimes you can leak some sort of spyware or virus into your comp
if you have a virus/spyware/trojans/mailware .

restart pc enter pc in safemode . use ur antivirus%26 antispyware to scan pc this way it will do a more deep scan .than in windows mode

and the virus/spyware can be removed
No, if your Virtual HD is on your Host HD You are at risk
