I use SBCglobal internet. My popup blocker, i'm guessing, is a sbc one. I turn it on by going up to tools, internet options, and then Privacy where I turn the popup or cookie blocker at whatever setting I want. But heres where the problem comes. After a while, or when I open a new window, it turns off and my computer gets slow or crashes because of all the popups. Not only to the popups mess with my computers performance, but I seem to get viruses a lot easier. How do I keep my popup blocker on without messing up the online protection i have now and without slowing my computer down further?

you need to get anti-virus and anti-spyware....or update the ones you have. The popups are not giving you viruses...they are from the viruses already on your PC. The pop up blocker only works for pop ups from web pages the pop ups you seem to be getting are coming from viruses that are in your system.

Run a scan to fix the problem. Norton, AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Spybot, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html . You can also run a free registry scan using utilities from http://re7.info
Buy McAfee security suite.
