Windows Vista CCC.exe stops responding?

I just bought a computer with Windows Vista loaded on. Every time I shut down my computer I get a message saying "CCC.exe has stopped responding". I know it is not the virus that everyone thinks because I was getting it before I ever connected the computer to the net and I highly doubt computers come brand new and fully loaded with viruses. I read somewhere that it is a conflict with ATI Catalyst Control Center conflicting with the user profile protection feature in Vista. Does anyone know if they are working on a fix for this or if it would be safe to disable CCC.exe from starting up with my computer?
