Yes but if it has high capacitive PCB board, coz the principle is same but difference in that is the size and output values given by them. UPS has low output values as compared to INVERTERS. Both supply DC current when the main AC supply breaks. High capacitive board helps to lower the time gap of AC to DC. Capacitor charges when main supply is ON, and discharges when AC supply breaks, this lowers the time gap when supply changes from AC to DC.
