I'm trying to delete a bunch of pictures in the My Pictures file (MS Win XP) ... but....?

my computer keeps making "copies" of them. There's about 20 to 30 pictures (I've deleted about 100 BS photos I've had in that file, but these last ones won't delete).

I have cleaned out my recycle bin and tried again

I have checked the properties to be sure there was nothing checked for protection, didn't see anything

Now, I'm going to restart my computer, but I doubt if that's going to do it.

any ideas??

that's weird i dont know why they would copy themselves. my only idea would be dat if they were ur pictures, they probably can't be deleted if you're using those ones for something else, like on a different application, and windows can't delete them yet. other than that, i dont' know... sorry
