My son is 15 and he went on a porn site and got my computer a virus. I got thvirus removed (free waranty) and now my computer works fine.
Now i downloaded AVG 7.5 virus protection. If my son goes on those sites again (i hope not) will i be able to delete the virus?
P.S. Whats the difference between a virus and a trojan cause i think it was a trojan he got me.
My son?????antivirus protection
If you want to avoid PORN all together... you can do the following, Manually change your DNS settings for the computer to use OpenDNS servers: http://www.opendns.com/features/adult/
(If you want porn.. this might be an issue. But hopefully you do not need to hit these sites either.)

AVG is a great tool!
My son?????computer repair
A trojan opens the doors for all kinds of stuff to get into your computer. So if a virus wants to it can get in easier. With AVG 7.5 it will help protect, but it's not going to be 100%. Your best bet would be to get some kind of parental control so that he can't get on to those sites. I'm sorry, I can't think of where to get them from. Good Luck!
You need to give your son his own log-in/password and then put parental controls onto it. You need XP or Vista. You can then control the sites he can visit and also you will have access to a list of sites he's been to, in case he finds a way around it. At 15 though, how long can you or should you keep him away - that's not a question I can or want to answer! So, if he's going to do it anyway then you need to update your virus files every day, not just occassionally. Those people out there writing virus code are doing it at an alarming rate and there's something new almost every day.
If he goes on the site again, your software will hopefully catch the virus before it can download onto your computer, and you should get a message saying that it stopped a virus from dowloading, or it will pick it up on a scan and most likely be able to delete it.
keep the anti viruses downloaded on your computer and that should keep it safe. A trojan is a specific type of virus. Tell him not to go on porn and talk to him. Get Mcafee Security Center, and have a virus scan from Norton scan your PC every week for viruses.
a trojan lies and steals sensitive information and sends it to creepie scum
