Wireless Internet Was working, Now it says its connected but I can't get online!?

My family got wireless internet and being the people they are they didn't put any protection up. I set up the WPA key, and used my laptop as the guinea pig (there is one other laptop in the house). Ever since then, I haven't been able to get onto the internet via my family's network.

We removed the WPA key, and it still wont work. My laptop picks up other signals and connects to them all the time (I use it at college AND my bfs house with No problems) yet for some reason it wont allow me to use the internet in my house!

Any ideas? There are things on my computer I'd like to use that my family doesn't have installed or want installed on their computers. Any idea what's wrong?

Are you sure you are entering the WAP key correctly? Try changing the encryption and protocol. Keep it at 128bit, but there should be couple different ones.

Make sure you have at least 3 open ports for all of your computers.

Try going to the access restrictions list on your router while other computer is running, and you should be able to locate computer's MAC address, and add it to ALLOW list. I'm not sure which router you have so I can't tell you what exactly you should do.

Some WAPs need to be rebooted for the changes to take effect.... I know Linksys and Netgear were good for this.... Why not try to reboot the AP and then try to connect to it once again....
