Spybot offers protection and so do the other products that the maker of spybot like NetAlyzer 0.3,RegAlyzer 1.5.5.0 etc...
Is this really a good program or does it slow down your computer. I am going to buy super anti spyware but I want to have another spyware program as a backup...I would like to get some software expert opinions...not the normal ("yeah it works") leave those answers out and give me GOOD ones!
Spybot and its products...?
Anti-spyware Anti-Malware
Scary words to any user.
From my experience with Spybot over the last several years, and through my Comp Eng. during college, I have found it to be a solid program.
If offers updates with MD5 checksums to make sure you haven't been duped and downloaded a fake update.
It also does a preventative measure to keep spyware out of your computer by blocking known spyware methods of entry and intrusion.
Although some persons will recommend using more then one spyware application, it is not a good idea depending on how the tool works.
If it is a reactive tool and does a scan on request then it is 'okay' to install along side a proactive tool like spybot. The reason to not install two at the same time is they can mess eith eachother. You can end up with the programs calling them selves spyware or hacking tools and make a mess of your system.
I have used Spybot in combination with Microsoft Windows Defender since Windows Defender came out and I have not had any spyware infiltrations. These are both free tools.
