HELP with Vista!!!?

Our computer is about 5 months old and it's never run properly out of the box. It keeps crashing although we have McAffee protection. Could it be because it's a AMD processor?

HELP with Vista!!!?antivirus downloads

How much RAM does it have? If it came with the standard 512MB, that is going to make it crash with all the garbage Vista loads automatically. Two things to do, upgrade to at least 1GB of RAM and go into settings and turn off the automatically loaded stuff.

HELP with Vista!!!?cafe racer

I bought my new puter with Vista 12 months ago and mine has never run properly either. I hate it!! It won't let me do anything.....including downloading the CD of information that Best Buy took off the hard drive of my old computer. I used to have XP and I asked if they could remove Vista and install XP but they won't do it. They said there is no more XP.

I have Norton Internet Security and Vista crashes with it as well.

I don't know what the answer is.......guess we put up with it until they work the bugs out of it.
no its mcaffee get rid of it get windows live one care its the only antiviral that works right with vista

and dont listen to that guy about linux i dont think you are ready for that he forgot to mention its for advanced computer users like those of use who have had a computer since dos
Try installing all the Windows updates and installing the latest Vista drivers. That really helps. Also go into the power options in the control panel and selecting the "high performance" power plan as well as turning that annoying UAC off. If you have only 512MB of ram bump it up to 2GBs. I suggest you call the support for your computer because, as its under warranty, you may want documentation with them that its been running poorly since you first got it in case you want to exchange it for a new one. I trust all the people who use that computer know to uninstall and not right-click and delete programs? I once sold a computer and had to reimage it twice the first month they had it because the dad was going into the program folder and right-clicking and deleting folders, trashing the registry! A messed up registry can result in problems like the ones youre having.
Well...an improperly mounted heat sink on your processor could cause it to overheat and crash the computer. But then so can a lot of other things.
What do you mean by it keeps crashing? Doe sit turn itself off, Blue Screen or just lock up? The AMD processor shouldn't have anything to do with it unless it just happens to be bad (pretty rare).
