Is burning activity traceable? If so, is it blockable?

If in the event one were to find a way to circument current copy-protection measures on most comnmercially available DVDs, and were shortly thereafter given a reason to do so, would this activity in any conceivable way be logged or traceable?

Is there any way to increase my computer's resistence to this sort of tracing?

If you are talking about copying a DVD so that you can have a backup just in case. I doubt if anyone would be too interested. However, if you are talking about making 50 copies of the newest release. Yes, I think you should be worried.

Where are you getting this software to do the copy? From an Internet site? If so, yes the people out there who have said that copying a DVD is illegal could trace you. Big question is, is it worth the risk????

As far as can someone tell that you are burning illegal DVDs??? As long as you are not on line and didn't download the software from the Internet........ Probably No.......But if you think that your friends will keep your activity secret, don't bet on it.
