I've had my computer for about a year, running Vista, and have been using Norton products for many years. In an effort to make my games run faster (their so taxing nowadays) I tried to switch to AVG so my protection doesn't take such a big hit on my performance which is just about the only problem I had with Norton's products.
Here in lies the problem. During the installation of AVG my internet just randomly crashed. Under the impression AVG might have caused it. I uninstalled AVG. Internet works fine.
Then the problem gets worse. Turns out Norton didn't uninstall properly and my computer still identifies it as installed, won't let me install it, uninstall it and I'm stuck in the middle, having to choose between an internet connection and safety.

If you have any software that can dump programs that refuse to be deleted that is how you do it.. Their are 2 programs that have great software for this, and they are system optimizers as well. System Mechanic Professional 7, and Tune up Utillities 2008.
