What is the best anti-virus, performance wise that will not slow down my computer?

I dont care if it doesnt have the best protection or ecutirt, I just want one that will not or will baely slow my computer down and will start quickly at start-up ;) thanks

aVast! is a really good free one that runs VERY few, small procesess. McAffee is the WORST. When you open up your process tree it looks like the freaking dollar menu (Mc this Mc this, Mc yada yada yada).

Get aVast, free, runs quickly. runs well, and great real-time scanning that doesn't slow down your pc.

Norton sucks it will slow you down, try AVG it's free and it sucks but it loads up just fine
Avast works very good for me, but you need to pay I think, it requires some kind of license key.
Kaspersky is not very good... try one of these free ones!

Symantec AntiVirus is by far the best. Stay away from Norton Antivirus as it will slow and screw your machine up.
