Apple Care Technicians?

has anyone who paid for the apple care protection plan used it? how was ur experience? how long do they usually take (i know theres no correct answer 4 that, but just state ur experience), because i live an hour and a half from the nearest apple store, and i have to have the computer back the same day, because it would be 2 much of a hassle to drive back and forth..would they care if i had limewire on my desktop? thanks

Call them and ask what the estimated turn around would be. I had to get my Mac fixed once under Apple Care. There isn't an Apple store within 1500 air miles from where I live, so I had to wait a few days for the shipment box to arrive and another couple days for it to arrive at the depot, then another 7 - 10? days (forgot how long) for a replacement part, a DC Inboard and RAM. Roughly 2 weeks without my Mac, had to use a PC YUCK! Your lucky you have an Apple store within driving distance.

I've never had to use Apple Care, but it was good to have just in case. I wouldn't think that they would care if you had Limewire on your Macintosh. As far as not wanting to go without a Mac for more than a day, I can feel you there. ;-) Some Macintosh places offer a rental, if you think that you will be going through bad withdrawals like that.

Getting your broken Macintosh fixed should be your main concern though. Get it in as fast as you can. The sooner you take it in, the sooner you'll get it back. Best of luck to you.
