How can I tell if a file a limewire is a virus (besides it's size and file type). I Can't afford all the fancy computer games but I would like to play Sims 2 %26 San Andreas but my old computer almost got a virus because I tried installing San Andreas off of limewire and I got a McAfee Message saying Virus found and deleted. I No longer pay for McAfee so my virus protection isn't as good. So how Can I be really sure that a file is not a virus on limewire?

Other than the file size I can't really tell you - they do sneak viruses in with the music when you do a search you'll see the same title numerous times and usually the smaller size is a virus. I suggest you subscribe to mcafee again better safe than sorry.

Use Avira free antivirus, and free Adaware and free Spybot, I would just do music, but remember it is illegal, friend of mine had to pay 5 thousand he got caught, plus crashed his computer.
It isn't safe to download other things than music, pictures, or video from limewire because of the risk of getting a virus. If you would still like to use limewire for this purpose get a free virus scanner off of the internet
download only pictures , movies or songs and you are fine
