Little silver wires are poking out of my charger, at the place where it plugs into the actual laptop. It's completely falling apart, which is strange because I take very good care of my computer and all of its parts. It still works fine, however, but the wires make me nervous.
My laptop is fairly new, less than a year old. I have the AppleCare protection plan. Were I to go into a Mac store, would they replace my charger for free?

Not to worry, Apple's been receiving a glut of these problems lately and will more than likely fix it for you with little ado. Apparently there's something wrong with the materials they used in the construction of the magsafe port that wears out quicker than normal. Take it to your local Apple store or call their hotline (1-800-692-7753, if I recall correctly), and they'll work things out for you.

Yes. They will replace the charger for free as long as you have apple care.
