Mcafee will not let me uninstall?

i am trying to ininstall mcafee security center from my computer. for some reason, it will not uninstall and i cant install the new virus protection software i purchased. can someone tell me how to get rid of this? thank you

Go to there W/S get their removal instructions!!
you have to stop it from working in the back ground through the task manager once you have done that goto add and remove and remove all mcafee then find the mcafee folders and delete those you'll probably have some files that can't be deleted if you do go download a program called unlocker unlock the files and then delete them.

One option is goto start- run- regedit and remove anything that says mcaffee. this is dangerous if you dont pay attention, make sure that you read each line that your about to remove. Just do a search for mcaffee and then find next to move on to the next one. I can tell you from experience that you need to get comfortable and plan on removing threads for a couple hours. there are literly 100s of threads in regedit to remove.
