Norton anti virus?spyware remove

I got rid of Norton because t was too demanding and got AVG
Go to Control Panel and go to add/remove hardware. Then find Norton and click on the remove button. That should delete it.
May be it is an Adware ??
Well either you turn them both on or you deal with the warnings. One way or the other.
Should be an option in your Norton to let it control those. Sounds like Windows is butting in on its work
Your problem is nothing to do with Antivirus software. The alerts you are recieving is from Windows XP Security.

HELP! I have a virus in my system! How do I get rid of it? Even my Antivirus doesn't work! I'm DESPERATE!!norton

Ok, not a problem. Just calm down and i'll tell you how to remove this trojan. Everything will be ok.

Here's what you need to do.

1st, don't waste your time with AVG, spybot, ad aware, CA, spyhunter, superantispyware, mcafee, avast, panda, kaspersky, windows defender or anything of the sort. Stay away from anything that is FREE when it comes to spyware and antivirus. There is a reason why they free. They are NOT good.

My dvd burner won't correctly read or write RW cds or dvds, but normal or burnt cd/dvds are oka

In Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 Basic, a disc will usually read as "Medium Error" and "Cannot read TOC" after attempting to burn something, but formatting the disc seems to work. CD-rw's will usually burn completely, but give me an error at the end telling me I should run Scandisk. (Running Scandisk will crash explorer or lockup the system.) DVD-rw's won't get past 3% before generating a "medium error." (Same with dvd-r's.) I know it isn't a medium error, at least not with the cd-rw's, because I formatted and burned files onto them on another computer with the same Roxio software, but when trying to read them on this laptop, Roxio labels it a medium error, and Windows declares it a corrupt or incompatible format. The cd runs fine on other computers. Also, store-bought (non-burnt) cds read fine on the laptop, as do cd-r's. Recently discovered Starforce drivers installed but I removed them. Does this seem like a copy-protection problem? Hardware? Or does the lens need to be cleaned? Thanks!

The format of the medium is not supported.

It is trying to tell you that the language that the CD bears are foreign to your OS.

Search for the correct region code to read your CDs.

Read this link for more info: http://www.dvdregions.com/

i have to agree with most of the others your probably infested it's just that you have no way of knowing. some one somewhere is probably using your system for spamming. within 5 min of a new unprotected p/c connecting it has been noted by the bad people.
yeah ok ....
yet some how someone has gained access to all your files (without you knowing)

your credit rating is as good as **** because someone has all your bank details and now has 27 visa cards !

I have a problem with one of my computers need advice, please read details Thanks in advance?

My desktop's Internet security suite (Anti-Virus, Firewall, Spyware, PoP Up Programs) licensing period ended and I foolishly kept using my computer and I entered an innocently suggested site listed in Yahoo. I know I "F'ed" up cause I know better then that, like they say surfing the net without protection is like having sex without protection you never know what you are going to get. Story short I bought the new Internet security suite I have always used I ran all the programs in the software to disinfect my computer but it didnt work. I dont know what to do, use or where to take it to fix my computer the only reason I want to fix this computer is cause that computer is what I use to upload and manage my itune library. Any suggestions on what to do or where to take the computer to get it fixed I would appreciate any serious suggestions. Thanks

Hello.

You've gotten a lot of complicated answers. Have you tried simply going into restore to an earlier date ? Go back about 2 weeks into your restore calender and let it do it's thing. If it gets rid of the problem, don't look the gift horse in the mouth, run with it. Get your anti virus thing going again and don't screw it up the same way again (you'll do it soon enough in a different way, we all have). I hope this works for

Parental Monitoring - Reviews or Suggestions?

Recommendations?

I'm looking to install something to at least monitor, and likely block a bit, some of the computer activity from my children (ages 12 %26 8). We have 3 computers on a home network w/both Win98 (for older games) and XP. I'm seeing reviews for eBlaster, XPCSpy Pro, Cyber Patrol, CyberSitter, Guardian Monitor etc. but the more I see the more confused I get. Any insight or current experience with tools that might be helpful? The main concerns would be things like some particular "YouTube" videos, more obscure kid-centric websites (that may link to 'others' or download spyware or adware+) and what IM 'chats' are happening (email? - password protected websites like or "MySpaces"?).

Price is important and I do already run basic "Norton SystemWorks" virus protection - but does not need to be "freeware".

Best is kid education. But they or their friends will always be curious about the forbidden. You can put a few blocks in a netgear or similar wireless router. You can also set the router to send you a report of all websites visited by EVERYONE on your network in it's config. But youtube is so hard with kids - the comments are full of swearing even if the video is innocent. I don't know about the software you mentioned but there is also key capture devices for you to monitor all typing. Pretty big brother-ish but depends on how worried you are about kids. Keeping the computer in the family room was recommended to me by a police detective. Good luck.
