Advice please?

I have the new apple mac book intel core duo, purchased it under 1 year ago. I have the apple car protection plan for 3 years extended warranty. My computer keeps on shutting down by itself so i have called apple several times and they keep on temporareley fixing it for about a week. I took it to one of their apple authorized resellers to look at it and again they fix for only 1-2 weeks. I have taken it to there authorzed resellers for repairs 8 times but they have only done 1 actual repair on it which didn't work in the first place. The other 7 times, they run their tests on it and shrug their shoulders and say theres nothing wrong with it

b/c they cannot reproduce the problem. Now, whenever I call apple and ask for a new computer they want more repairs to be done it but I ask them I have brought it there several times for repair and they do not know what is wrong with it so they have only done one repair therefore apple is refusing to give me a new computer. What should I do?

Advice please?anti virus

I would try to sue them cuz u have a warenty. Otherwize tell them that u need to speak to the head person about wut is goin on.

Advice please?auto protect

thanx for choosing me as the best answer. I told u wut I could and wut I would do. I hope everything works out for u. Report It

There is a lemon law! Many not all states if after 4 attempts at repairing any under warrenty item and it is not repaired they have to replace it.
That happens with macs a lot because they insist on making their own hardware. Get a PC.
demand a new one thats ridiculous!

WHy can't I get rid of a cookie?

I have a Toshiba computer, and I have Norton as a virus protection software (2007). Everytime it runs the check, it always has something that says "Attention Required." The thing there is a tracking cookie. I read about them the first time I saw it was on my computer and I learned to remove them. I clean out my computer (the history, cookies, and browsed websites) to make sure I get rid of things, and my computer is protected very well. Yet, every time Norton runs, it always has that cookie. I have a feeling it's the same one.

If you are trying to answer my question and need more information, just put it on the answer and I will add more details.

**Note: I do not have anything memorized into my computer such as passwords and automatic log in. I am too afraid of hacking.

Thank you!!!

WHy can't I get rid of a cookie?antispyware

It is OK. You will pick up cookies every time you go on the internet. Yahoo uses cookies to keep track of your settings and preferences. Just clean them out occasionally.

WHy can't I get rid of a cookie?best antivirus software

get and run spybot

spybot hates tracking cookies
start your computer in safe mode and run norton's....it should get rid of it them....but if you go back to that web site that put it there in the first place a lot, then it'll just show up again
keep deleting all your history at internet options and your history in the favourites menu if your running IE7

I want to copy a DVD?

I am trying to get rid of the copy protection on a DVD... how do you do that? Can I rip it to my computer then burn it?

I want to copy a DVD?antivirus download

DVD Shrink v3.2.0.15

DVD Shrink is a versatile freeware tool for fitting a DVD-Video disc on a single DVDR disc. DVD Shrink is capable of both re-authoring and re-encoding the movie. It features an intuitive user interface which makes it easy to choose what to keep, and what to lose. DVD Shrinks allow the user to select compression level for each video track separately to obtain the desired disc size (which is usually below 4.38GB). The software is capable of producing either an ISO image of the ripped DVD, or a VIDEO_TS folder for further processing, viewing or burning it will auto burn the dvd using nero

download at http://www.AfterDawn.com plus a lot more

I want to copy a DVD?bmw

DVD shrink is an amazing program to do this. I have seen it do its thing in the past and can say it is very fast and accurate.

Yet I experienced the older version of the software, and with that version the file it would rip the movie too then had to be burned on the disk using Nero Burning Rom. I am not sure but I think the newer versions actually burn it for you, but don't quote me. :)
use anydvd to remove the protection. Then you can copy it anyway you like. Go to slysoft.com to buy a copy. Great for backing up you dvd collection.

Why aren't Energy Saving IntelliPlugs fitted to all new appliances?

http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.200-8371.asp...

Have a look at the link above. Quoted below:

'When your desktop computer is switched on, Intelliplug automatically provides power to the monitor, printer, speakers etc via its patented auto-calibration system as well as providing surge protection for the whole system. When the computer is turned off, Intelliplug automatically switches off power to the peripherals, saving money as well as saving energy.'

If we have the technology why aren't these Energy Saving Intelliplugs fitted to all new appliances by law?

Later this year because PG%26E has demanded it, computers will be able to be turned off and when turned back on they will start with the programs that where running when turned off and without delay. That is what I am waiting for!

I bought something along those lines (bigger) for me and my dad many many years ago--mostly to make sure everything was turned off when you aren't working on your computer. It's a thing that you plug all your computer equipment into, each plug has an on-off switch so you can click on only the things you need to use, and it also has a master on-off switch so you can turn everything off at once. It's thin and sits under my monitor.

Anti-virus help?

I've been using Norton for 3 years and quite frankly i'm fed up with what it does to my computer, it insists that it updates every hour and runs a scan every time i boot up, try to cancel it makes the computer slow and unresponsive. It overheats my computer and does damage to it.

I have a 2 1/2 year old Compaq Presario V4000 and i want to know what anti-virus would stop making my computer lag and go unresponsive, while offering good protection to viruses.

Also, my sound isn't working very well, could i put this down to Norton aswel?

Anti-virus help?antivirus programs

I have answer this question a few times and you should notice that hey are some other threats besides viruses, like adwares and some others malwares, what i recommend to everybody who ask is to create your own security suit based on freewares, because they get the job done are smaller than all in one security suit. Here is a list softwares, they not only will secure your computer but also boost its performance.

Browser:

Mozilla Firefox, http://www.download.com/mozilla-firefox/... Go to the mozilla site and search for cools add ons.

Anti virus: Just run one antivirus on your PC, both options are great but i recommend AVG.

AVG free edition.

Internet Connection (1 of four failed)?computer repair

And, you are not calling their 24 hour help line, but, instead, are asking a bunch of Yahoodiots?

Really, not enough cookies in the jar, methinks.
Firstly check all connections %26 ports to make sure your internet plug(port), is in the right one. If all else fails phone your ISP provider %26 they'll guide you step by step %26 any problems with yur connection they'll help!
You have to program the computer to that router in Wireless Network set! Be sure to install the driver too, then secure your connection, so no one else in the area gets free Internet courtesy of you ! Call your provider for tech support!

Please answer this...?

ok i have a computer that i used to get online w/out protection, and pretty sure now have viruses, adware and what ever is out tthere.. and now i have a new computer and brought this NORTON software and it says protects up to three computers so now i want to download this software to my old computer the one that is most likely to have virures ect.. will this NORTON software remove these virues adware ect ??

Please answer this...?antivirus scan

Nortons sux, it will make your PC run like crap.

Nortons and McAfee are resource hogs..uninstall them if you have them. (see tool below for Nortons)

Download the programs linked below. Install them. Update them. Scan your pc with them, and do so weekly.

If you have System Restore turned on, the Restore files may be infected, and trying to reinfect your pc. I turn off that feature, reboot to delete the files, then turn it on after a full system scan with AVG.

Turning off System Restore.

(right-click My Computer, Properties, System Restore tab, check the box to turn off System Restore on all drives.)

Restart your PC, and hold down the F8 key.

When you see the Boot Menu appear (black screen white letters), choose SAFE MODE.

Run a FULL SYSTEM SCAN with AVG.

You can heal or quarentine anything found.

Run CCleaner to delete all your Temp and Temporary Internet Files.
